Breakfast is included and taken on the lawn when it's fine. Lunch and dinner are cooked to order around whatever came up from the Coonoor market that morning.

Working estates start at the property line. Sim's Park is a ten-minute walk downhill; the Coonoor market and the toy-train station are a little further.

Getting around
We can arrange a car from Coimbatore airport (about two hours) or Mettupalayam. Ooty is forty minutes by road, an hour on the Nilgiri Mountain Railway from Coonoor.

A few notes left by people who stayed.
We had the Garden View Queen for three nights and did almost nothing, which was the point. Fire lit every evening, breakfast on the lawn, and the walk down through the tea to Sim's Park. The house feels lived-in rather than done-up.

The Verandah Suite was worth it for the private stretch of verandah alone — planter's chairs, the whole valley, and tea brought out without asking. Dinner was simple and very good. We'll be back in the winter.

Stayed in the Planter's Room on a work trip and got more done than I would have at home. Quiet, good light, strong wifi, and the staff left me alone until I wanted feeding. The drive up from Mettupalayam is slow but worth it.
