The kitchen
At a forest property, the kitchen runs the place.
Guests aren't going out for dinner. Meals are the day — breakfast on the lawn, a packed lunch for the walk, dinner from whatever came up from the market. Forest Studio Hospitality treats the kitchen as a real part of the operation, not an afterthought.

Questions
The things people ask first.
Is this a new product?
No. The engine underneath has years of real hotel use behind it. Forest Studio Hospitality is our own hardened, re-worked build of it, sold as a commercial product on an annual subscription. You get the full source for your own instance and self-host it, but the software is licensed, not given away.
What does "self-hosted" actually mean for me?
The application runs on a server you control — a VPS, a managed box, or hosting we provide. Your bookings, guests and payments never pass through us. If you'd rather not touch servers, the Managed option covers all of it.
I run a hostel with dorm beds, not just rooms. Does that work?
Yes. Sell individual beds in a shared room as their own inventory, alongside private rooms, with mixed or single-sex dorms and bunk-level availability. You can run a hostel, a homestay and a small hotel — several locations, several formats — from one back office, each with its own site and rates.
How does it handle meals and the kitchen?
Meal plans attach to a rate (breakfast included, half- or full-board) and extras like a packed lunch, high tea or a barbecue sit on an à-la-carte menu. Dietary notes carry from the booking to the kitchen, covers are counted off the arrivals list, and food is billed on the same invoice and the same revenue report as the room.
Only annual billing?
Yes. The licence and updates are billed once a year. It keeps the relationship simple and the roadmap funded.
Can it take real payments?
Out of the box it handles manual UPI and bank transfer with confirmation flows. Card and wallet gateways can be wired in during setup.
What about updates and security?
Because it's a hard fork, we track upstream advisories and port fixes ourselves. Your annual subscription includes those updates; on the Managed plan we apply them for you.
Can I move my existing content in?
Yes. During Setup & Launch we migrate room types, rates, photos and policies with you, and import guest and booking history where a clean export exists.
Multiple properties?
One back office can run several properties, each with its own site, rooms and rates.
